The process to own your Solar PV System

 

1.  You contact us for a solar PV system.

 

2.  We will assess the roof space and the orientation of the building you occupy (residential, commercial or industrial) on Google Earth.

 

3.  If an appointment is required, we will contact you or we will explain the possibilities and the rest of the process over the phone.

 

4.  If you decide to purchase a system then a minimum deposit of $250 will be required from you but all depending on the price of the system, anything greater than $2500 a 10% deposit will be required.

 

5.  We will issue you with a copy of an agreement of sales document.

 

6.  We will submit a ‘request to connect a solar PV system’  to Western Power. If the system is <=3kw a ‘fast-track’ confirmation will be provided within 1 to 2 days of submission but if it is a system >3Kw then it may take up to 4 weeks for an approval.

 

7.  Once we receive the approval from Western Power in most cases we will install your solar system within 4 weeks time but if any delay does occur will contact you as soon as we are aware of the situation.

 

8.  A team of panel fitters and a qualified ‘Installer’ electrician will carry out the installation.

 

9.  Once the installation is completed the ‘installer’ will provide you with an ‘Electrical Safety Certificate’ to confirm that your system is operating safely.  On completion all forms must be signed and all payments must be made either  by cash, direct debit, bank cheque or money order and no personal cheques please.

 

10. After the completion of the installation you will need to download the (Renewable Energy Buyback Scheme Application) on Synergy’s website or contact Synergy to send you one. The REB’s is a payment made out to you by Synergy if your system produces excess energy that is going into the grid especially if you are a residential owner or an educational facility or a non-profit organization.  If required Synergy will either change or reprogram your meter so that your system will properly register its productivity.
